Maqbool Fida Husain, 96 years old, India's greatest name in contemporary art passes away  in London.

Amidst the cloud of global recession, Art Dubai once again launches it 2010 edition in time. This years Art Dubai has more galleries, more exhibits and more themes. This is particularly important because most other fairs have been postponed, their budgets have been reduced and the attendances of galleries all over the world in any fair is quite low compared to what it was in 2009.

The historic city of Julfar, presently called Ras Al Khaimah has emerged over the past decade into a major industrial city and an important tourist destination in UAE. The emirate's free trade policy, and benevolent leadership has made it an important investement destination and its proximity to other important cities like Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah and Umm Al Quain makes it a cheaper city

Maqbool  Fida  Husain (born in 1915, Pandharpur, Maharastra) popularly known as MF Husain is the best known Indian artist in the world. The Forbes magazine¹ had once described Husain as the "Picasso of India".

 Anish Kapoor's latest work "Mountain" was put for auction by Bonham in Dubai. Bonham had also placed together works of veteran Iranian artists Faramarz Pilaram and Sohrab Sepehri, Iraqi artist Issam El-Said and Emirates' artist Abdul Qadir Al- Rais. Yet the show stopper was the work by Anish Kapoor.

 Vietamese artists are gaining popularity in Dubai as their works are being accumulated by many important art galleries in Dubai. Compared to Chinese, Indian or Japanese art, which are also very popular in Dubai, Vietnamese art comes cheaper and some of the best artists in Vietnam like Pham Luan and Nugyen Than Binh remain available at their shows to interact with buyers as and when required.
